Australian medical product and pharmaceutical distribution

Sonictec’s Australian channel business comes from product operations: Fanttest combination-test development, SONICTEC own-brand five-in-one supply and a TouchBio brand-supply partnership. Relevant products have entered pharmaceutical wholesale, pharmacy-chain and aged-care channels.

From self-test registration to Australian channel sales

Founded in Sydney in 2019, Sonictec acts as Australian Sponsor for relevant products across Fanttest, SONICTEC and TouchBio: 30 SKUs reaching more than 4,000 pharmacies. Its work also includes its own brand and supply to partner brands.

Fanttest

Registration · Australian Sponsor · Channel development

Combination self-test: one of the first two in Australia

On 7 September 2022, TGA announced the first two COVID-19 and influenza combination self-tests. The Fanttest COVID-19 / Influenza A&B Antigen Test Kit was one of them. Its TGA product record names Sonictec Pty Ltd as the Australian Sponsor, under ARTG 395590.

Sonictec worked on Australian registration and channel development for this product. It entered pharmaceutical wholesale channels and was stocked by Chemist Warehouse, Priceline and TerryWhite Chemmart.

SONICTEC

Own brand · Registration · Commercial supply

Five-in-one self-tests: among the early Australian products

The Sonictec five-in-one respiratory self-test detects RSV, adenovirus, COVID-19 and influenza A and B. Its TGA product page records approval for supply on 18 March 2025, with Sonictec Pty Ltd as Australian Sponsor under ARTG 408073.

The SONICTEC five-in-one product entered the Symbion, API and Sigma wholesale channels and is supplied through pharmacy chains and aged-care channels. A single exhibition appearance at APP 2025 generated more than 500 leads.

TouchBio

Australian Sponsor · Partner-brand supply

Brand supply partnership: five-in-one self-tests

In mid-2025, Sonictec signed a supply agreement with TouchBio for its five-in-one combination self-test product.

TouchBio’s brand channels include Coles, Woolworths and 1,500 independent pharmacies. Sonictec acts as Australian Sponsor and supplier for the relevant products in this partnership, while TouchBio’s brand channels reach retail outlets.

TouchBio describes itself as Australia’s top-selling self-test brand in pharmacies by value. Its statement cites IQVIA pharmacy test-kit value-sales data for the 52 weeks to May 2025.

Product registration information links to TGA records. Brand projects and commercial figures are confirmed by the company; TouchBio’s ranking is attributed to the brand’s statement.

Frequently asked questions

Can we discuss distribution without commissioning registration work?

Distribution can be discussed separately based on existing market access and supply arrangements. Describe the Australian authorization status, Sponsor and distributor relationships, target customers, price range and supply capability to establish a starting point. Then agree tasks for customer screening, commercial discussions, samples, orders and support. If access or supply gaps emerge, identify who will resolve them; a distribution engagement does not automatically replace registration, Sponsor or other parties’ responsibilities.

Do you guarantee entry into a named pharmacy or hospital?

Access to a specific pharmacy or hospital depends on product fit, procurement needs, market access and commercial assessment. Registration alone does not establish a listing or purchasing outcome. Prepare buyer-facing evidence, product materials, pricing, lead times, training and support, then progress according to feedback. Screening, contact records and pilot assessment can be agreed as stage deliverables; purchasing commitments, orders and contracts depend on confirmed customer decisions.

What product materials should we prepare for Australian buyers?

Buyer materials should help assess customer fit and practical supply. Prepare a concise description of use and specifications, current access status, supporting evidence, pricing basis, lead times, packaging and support. Adapt these to hospitals, clinics, laboratories or retail customers. Substantiate performance and commercial claims, identify unresolved conditions and add detail in response to feedback rather than sending a large technical file set without clear commercial terms.
